title

Extension of the 2020 Agreement for Services with Intoximeters, Inc. for the Provision of Warehouse Inventory at the Arapahoe County Detention Facility

end

Purpose and Request:

recommended action

The Board of County Commissioners is requested to adopt a resolution approving and authorizing the Chair to sign a contract extension on behalf of the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office for the purchase of warehouse inventory items at Arapahoe County Detention Facility (ACDF) through October 2025.

end

Background and Discussion: Intoximeters is the sole manufacturer and leading supplier of the breathalyzer equipment used at ACDF.  Disposable mouthpieces used with the current equipment are a Detention Warehouse Inventory item.  Intoximeters, Inc. has won several solicitations and has provided breathalyzer supplies to ACSO for several years.

Alternatives: The alternative would be to not include the breathalyzer supplies in ACDF warehouse inventory and order as needed on an open PO.

Fiscal Impact: The estimated $4,500 cost of the contract is funded through the General Fund Budget for 2025.

Alignment with Strategic Plan:

                     ☐Be fiscally sustainable

                     ☒Provide essential and mandated service

                     ☐Be community focused

Concurrence: The Sheriff’s Office Administration and Detention Services Bureau are in concurrence with this decision.
