Purpose and Request:

The purpose of this item is to request approval of a resolution authorizing the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement (“IGA”) between Arapahoe County and the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority regarding expenses for maintenance and snow removal on interior roads at the Centennial Airport, and to also sign and accept a Permanent Roadway and Slope Drainage Easement Agreement between the two parties for Isbill Drive.

Background and Discussion: A draft IGA is being negotiated with the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority that will reimburse the County for certain costs for maintenance and snow removal on interior roads at the Centennial Airport, and a draft Easement Agreement for Isbill Drive (a road within Centennial Airport) is also being negotiated. A copy of each of the current draft of each of these documents is attached. The resolution will authorize the signing of these documents once they are finalized (no significant substantive changes are anticipated).
Fiscal Impact: The projected fiscal impact is reflected in the draft IGA and draft easement agreement but is conditional upon approval by the County Attorney’s Office and the Public Airport Authority as to the form of the agreements.

Concurrence: The draft IGA and draft easement agreement have been prepared in coordination with the Public Airport Authority.
Resolution: Attached is a copy of the draft resolution. The resolution makes the Chair’s authorization to sign conditioned upon approval by the County Attorney’s Office and the Public Airport Authority as to the form of the agreements.
