Alignment with Strategic Plan: Good Governance - Proactively advocate for the County's needs in legislative solutions.

Background and Discussion: Bowditch & Cassell Public Affairs was selected to serve as the county’s state lobbyist through RFP 21-45. The firm has successfully represented Arapahoe County the past five years and has a unique understanding of the organization’s approach to and priorities for the General Assembly. The Board of County Commissioners desires to continue this contractual relationship over the next five years to ensure steady and consistent lobbying representation.

Alternatives: The Board could pursue an RFP for state lobbying services.

Fiscal Impact: The contract amount will remain at $80,000 for the next two years and increase by $6,000, to $86,000/year, for the remainder of the contract through 2031.
