Extension to IGA with City of Englewood for Emergency Management Services

end

Purpose and Request:

recommended action

Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approve and authorize the Chair to sign the second extension to the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Arapahoe County and the City of Englewood for Emergency Management Services.

end

Alignment with Strategic Plan: Good Governance - Deliver mandated and essential services with excellence.

Background and Discussion: In the last year of work under IGA, the City of Englewood has made steady progress advancing their in-house Emergency Management program. Arapahoe County OEM continues to support that work per the agreement. Both parties have agreed to extend the IGA for another year, per the extension clause of the agreement.

Alternatives: The BOCC could reject the extension and invoke the termination clause of the IGA, providing a final 180 days of OEM services to Englewood.

Fiscal Impact: The IGA is $60,000 annually, paid twice per year. The City’s funding is expected to increase the revenue line of the OEM budget

Alignment with Strategic Implementation Strategies: The attached framework helps Arapahoe County institutionalize values-based, transparent decision-making, documenting how we make decisions and carry out actions to achieve the county’s strategic plan.

Concurrence: Englewood City Manager’s Office and Police Department.
