To seek approval of a resolution authorizing the County Attorney to obtain insurance coverage for the County and its officials and employees for the following year.

Background and Discussion: At the end of each year the County needs to obtain insurance policies for the following year so that the County and its officials and employees continue to have adequate coverage. Often the insurance quotes and related information are not all received until the end of the year. The purpose of this resolution is to authorize the County Attorney to procure and bind the County’s insurance coverage so that the BOCC does not have to have a meeting during its break in late December for this purpose. There will be a study session on December 9 to get direction from the BOCC on parameters within which the insurance will be procured.
