Purpose and Request:

The purpose of this request is to obtain authorization for the Chair of the BOCC to sign the
Separation and Release Agreement for Arlene Haughton pursuant to the terms of the agreement contained therein.end
Alignment with Strategic Plan: Economic Resilience and Stability - Support long-term economic resilience through responsible fiscal and investment strategies.
Background and Discussion: The Agreement relates to the elimination of the temporary grant funded support staff due to lack of funding, effective March 14, 2026, a review of which was previously provided to the Board in an executive session. This agreement was the result of a negotiated agreement.
Alternatives: None.
Fiscal Impact: According to the Agreement, Arlene Haughton will receive a severance payment equal to 1 week’s gross salary. The fiscal impact will not be significant.
