The Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve and authorize the Chair to execute an agreement with LifeLine Screenings to provide grant-funded, onsite health screenings to sworn personnel through December 31, 2025.

Background and Discussion: The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved adding this to the consent agenda for approval at their meeting on Nov. 26, 2024.

In Sept. 2022, the BOCC approved ACSO to apply for the Law Enforcement Workforce Recruitment, Retention and Tuition grant. ACSO received $225,200 in funding from the State of Colorado through this grant in 2024 to provide heart screenings at no cost to sworn personnel as a recruitment tool (agreement attached). ACSO staff conducted extensive research of available providers to identify a cost effective, on-site provider with the capacity to see multiple people a day, had experience working with law enforcement, and could specifically provide cardiac imaging. A quick comparison chart is included in the attached waiver.

Several national and local providers were identified, however in many cases they were cost-prohibitive or did not have the functionality we were looking for.
* Sigma Tactical and LifeScan Wellness were front runners by offering comprehensive screening packages, but they take a longer time to conduct, which limits the number of patients they can see per day. The cost for these comprehensive screenings was also a barrier with each screening costing almost $800.00 per person. ($799 and $783 respectively). Neither offered a cheaper or modified option.
