recommended action

Background and Discussion: In years past the Sheriff’s Office has received small grants from the Colorado ICAC Task Force ($2k - $5k) for much needed equipment items and/or training. In 2024 federal regulations changed requiring membership in the Task Force be done through an MOU. Given that, the ACSO Investigations Section asked the BOCC for approval to become part of the Colorado ICAC task force. Approval was granted. Subsequently, we were approved by the task force for $4100.00 to send two investigators to the ICAC Conference in Atlanta Georgia later in the year (June). We are asking the BOCC to approve this request so that we can use these monies to obtain this valuable training at no cost to the agency.
Alternatives: The alternative is to deny this request. Doing so would mean that the agency would incur the cost of the training or not send the employees at all.
Fiscal Impact: There is no financial impact to the agency as the cost would be covered by the ICAC Task Force.
