Open Spaces staff request that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approve an easement to be granted to the City of Centennial for construction of a traffic signal on Dove Valley Regional Park property at East Broncos Parkway and South Blackhawk Street. Staff also requests that the BOCC authorize the Open Spaces director to execute the agreement. The draft easement is attached.

Background and Discussion: The City of Centennial has approached the Open Spaces department and requested that we grant an easement for a traffic signal to be installed at East Broncos Parkway and South Blackhawk Street on Dove Valley Regional Park property. A new traffic signal will help with traffic flow and enhance pedestrian safety at this intersection, which is expected to see an increase in car and foot traffic with the opening of the nearby National Women's Soccer League stadium this summer.
This is currently a three-way intersection. However, Open Spaces plans to construct another entrance to Dove Valley Regional Park at this location in the future, which will turn it into a four-way intersection. Therefore, granting this easement to the City of Centennial will benefit the County as well.
