Purpose and Request:

recommended action

Request the Board of County Commissioners, acting as the County Board of Equalization, receive and accept the Arapahoe County Assessor reports on the protests of real property valuations and personal property valuations which were received by this office in 2022.

Background and Discussion: Pursuant to C.R.S. 39-8-105(1), prior to July 15th of each year the County Assessor is required to report to the County Board of Equalization the valuation for assessment of all taxable property in Arapahoe County, which includes a list of all persons who have appeared before the Assessor to present objects or protests, and the actions taken.

Pursuant to C.R.S. 39-8-105(2), prior to July 15th of each year the County Assessor is required to report to the County Board of Equalization the valuation of all taxable personal property noting any valuations for assessment of portable or moveable equipment which has been apportioned pursuant to statute. Also included is a list of all persons in the County who failed to return any schedules and shall report the actions taken; and a list of all persons who have appeared before the Assessor to present objects or protests, and the actions taken.
