The purpose of this informational presentation is to provide the Arapahoe County Board of County Commissioners with an overview of the City of Aurora's Build Up Aurora initiative and next steps.

Alignment with Strategic Plan: Sustainable Growth and Infrastructure - Strengthen city-county partnerships to create aligned and effective investments.

Background and Discussion: Safe, adequate and well-maintained infrastructure is essential to the city's economic health and impacts every resident's quality of life. Aurora's population has grown nearly 40% in the last 20 years, compounding the city's infrastructure needs.

Beginning in 2023, Aurora delivered on promises to address top priorities of residents-transportation and roadways-by improving the condition of Aurora residential streets in the worst condition. That work is continuing annually. This was the start of Build Up Aurora, a strategic long-term effort to care for the city's existing infrastructure and provide for what is needed for the future. The city is in the next phase of the Build Up Aurora effort to address more than $700 million in unmet critical capital projects required to maintain existing city infrastructure and provide for our growing community's immediate and future needs.
