This Study Session is to provide the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) a high level update on how Offices and Departments plan to operationalize/implement the proposed Remote Work Policy (RWP) and answer questions that the BOCC would have. Staff has scheduled formal policy adoption for the June 1, 2021 business meeting.

Background and Discussion:
A BOCC Study Session was held on May 4, 2021, where the background on development of a new RWP was presented as well as the draft policy. Since that study session, the policy has been modified and presented to the E-Team and the BOCC. The E-team has approved the attached policy.

The primary purpose of this study session is for each Office and Department to present their high level plan for operationalizing and implementing the RWP. Staff proposes that the official start date of the policy beginning on July 6, 2021, if the policy is approved on June 1, 2021, to allow ample time for communication and employee planning.

Currently, a Remote Work Agreement along with guidelines for use of the RWP is being developed. During the 2021 County Leadership Workshop, a session is being planned to discuss and develop plans for "measuring success of the RMP" and "how do we know that RWP is successful", so that additional parameters can be established for the program in the future.

Alternatives:
Staff request that the BOCC provide feedback or ask questions regarding the initial implementation plans of the RWP and/or the RWP in general.
