The purpose of this request is for the Board to adopt a resolution correcting Resolution No. 21-274M which contains an error in the refund amount on parcel number 1973-27-2-00-028 for tax year 2019.

Background and Discussion: The Board adopted Resolution No. 21-274M on August 31, 2021 approving the Petition for Abatement for Navtek Directional Services, Inc. parcel number 1973-27-2-00-028 for tax year 2019. The original tax for 2019 of $4,016.54 is incorrect as the residential tax rate of 7.15% was used. The correct tax rate is the commercial tax rate of .29%. Therefore, the correct original tax for 2019 is $16,291.26 and the correct refund is $12,525.45. The Board should adopt one (1) new resolution to properly set forth the correct refund amount to the property owner.
Alternatives: None.
Fiscal Impact: Reduction in the amount of property taxes collected on an approved petition, and no decrease in the taxes collected on a denied petition.
