This item is to request approval from the Board to place ratification of signature authority approval for Clerk Lopez to enter into an agreement with Advanced Network Management (ANM) for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of 35 ballot drop box security cameras on the Consent Agenda for May 24, 2022.

Background and Discussion: The Clerk & Recorder's Office previously updated the Board on a pilot project it completed in 2021 for replacement of the ballot drop box security cameras. The Clerk & Recorder's Office, in collaboration with the IT Department, developed the Ballot Box Security Camera Project that was presented to the Executive Budget Committee as part of the 2022 Budget review process and then subsequently approved by the Board as part of the 2022 Adopted Budget. The Clerk needs signature authority to enter into an agreement for this Project.

Colorado law requires the Clerk and Recorder to maintain security cameras and footage for each ballot drop box located in Arapahoe County. The County currently has 32 ballot drop boxes. A pilot project was conducted in 2021 for replacing the security cameras, which are in need of replacement due to age and historical unreliability. The new cameras have extended functionality, including the ability for remote monitoring and immediate notification when a camera fails.
