The Board of County Commissioners is requested to adopt proclamations recognizing April 14-20, 2024, as Animal Care and Control Appreciation Week and April 2024 as National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month.

Background and Discussion: In late 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved a process to issue proclamations that meet the following criteria:

                     Highlight items of importance related to Arapahoe County services, employee recognition or the County’s strategic plan;

                     Promote an issue that impacts a broad range of Arapahoe County residents or employees;

                     Made by an Arapahoe County resident, employee or elected official.

The attached proclamations met the above requirements and were determined eligible for approval by the Board of County Commissioners.
