Background and Discussion:
The Arapahoe County Commissioners developed the Aid to Agencies program to financially support non-profit organizations in 2008, filling service gaps in the county through annual grants using general fund dollars. In 2021, the Board approved a revision to the Aid to Agencies program structure that designated annual funding to the county's ten “safety net” programs. The organization providing these programs receives annual Aid to Agencies funding without needing to re-apply, subject to annual appropriations.
As part of the programmatic change, safety net organizations are asked to provide a mid-year update presentation, which generally includes:
• A brief program background
• Key successes/accomplishments
• Data of people served by the program
• How the organizations used or plans to use the Aid to Agencies funding
• Any anticipated challenges
At this study session, Gateway Domestic Violence Servies will provide a mid-year update and answer questions from the Board.
