The Board of County Commissioners is requested to allow the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) to apply for the 2022 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) with the City of Aurora Police Department (APD).

The application process requires a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be drawn up between the participating agencies prior to submitting the formal application. The Sherriff's Office requests the Board of County Commissioners to authorize the Sheriff to sign the MOU between Arapahoe County on behalf of the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and the City of Aurora.

If awarded, the Sheriff's Office requests authorization to accept the grant and requests the Board of County Commissioners to authorize the Sheriff to sign the grant award because of Equal Employment Opportunity Plans (EEOP) requirements.
